Use

In this Customizing activity, you can specify how you view product data on the tab pages in the compliance workbench. The system displays the product structure and the specification data according to the specified view. A view assigned to a check, for example, displays the data that is relevant for that check. This way, you can direct attention to the product data that is necessary for reaching compliance.

Prerequisites

The settings for views depend on the settings you made for checks, normalization variants, and product variants. Before specifying views in the workbench, ensure that you have done the following:

  • You have defined checks in the Customizing activity Specify Checks and Single Criteria.
  • You have defined the normalization variants in the Customizing activity Specify Normalization Variants.
  • You have defined the priorities for displaying different variants of the product structure in the Customizing activity Specify Composition Groups and Variants.
Example: A product structure that differs in multiple plants
  • You have implemented the programs, screens, function modules, and classes that are required to define the views. Use the examples delivered with the standard system as the basis for creating your own programs, screens, function modules, and classes.

Standard settings

The standard system is delivered with the following views for the process industry and discrete industry.

Processing Industry:

  • REACH-ASSM (Material Assessment)
  • REACH-UCOV (Use and Exposure Coverage)
  • REACH-UDET (Use and Exposure Determination)
  • REACH-SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern)

Discrete Industry:

  • BASE (Basic checks for product structure)
  • RoHS (Compliance check Restriction of use of Hazardous Substances)
  • CHINA-RoHs (Compliance check China RoHS)
  • GADSL (Compliance check Global Automotive Declarable Substances List)
  • JIG (Joint Industry Guide reporting)
  • IMDS (International Material Data System check)
  • AIAG (Automotive Industry Action Group check)

The standard system contains a product structure view that can be used in both industries.

Normalization variants are not specified for workbench views in the standard system. You must specify them (see Activities). The following normalization variants are available in the standard system for the corresponding views:

View    Normalization variant

Basic checks for product structure    none

Compliance check RoHS    Best case per regulation

    Worst case per regulation

    IPC - Level 2

    IPC - Last internal

Compliance check China RoHS    Best case per regulation

    Worst case per regulation

Compliance check GADSL    Best case per regulation

    Worst case per regulation

JIG reporting    Best case per regulation

    Worst case per regulation

    IPC - Level 2

    IPC - Last internal

Checks for IMDS    IMDS flat BOM

    Preferred alternatives

Checks for AIAG    Preferred alternatives

Product structure    none

Activities

Check the standard settings and adapt them, if necessary.

Specify default normalization variants for the workbench views. If no normalization variant is specified, the system displays the product structure without a normalization variant.

Create customer-specific views, if necessary. Use the standard programs and screens as examples.

Further notes

The following list describes the specification data that the system displays for each view, in addition to header data and composition data (direct components or declarable substances):

View    Specification data

Basic checks for product structure    Mass information, direct components

Compliance check RoHS    Compliance Declaration RoHS, declarable substances

Compliance check China RoHS    Compliance Declaration China RoHS, declarable substances

Compliance check GADSL    Compliance Declaration GADSL, declarable substances

JIG reporting    Compliance Declaration JIG, declarable substances

Checks for IMDS    IMDS identifiers, direct components

Checks for AIAG    Check result, direct components

Product structure    none

Except for the Product Structure view, the system displays the respective check result for the components as an icon in the product structure.
