Use

In this Customizing activity, you specify document types for incoming templates. Documents can be imported individually, or with a data file. The documents are linked to a specification such as a sourced product part.

The document types describe the different documents within the application. This includes certificates of compliance, material data sheets, material declarations, analysis reports, and further documents.

Requirements

  • DMS is configured for the documents.
  • You have configured an EHS document type with a link to the DMS document type in the Customizing activity Assign EHS Document Types to DMS Document Types.

    Also in this activity, you have specified the storage location of the DMS documents (SAP database, archive, external document management system, and so on) in

  • You have configured the DMS document type with a simple status net in the Customizing activity Check Document Types and Document Status.
  • You have configured the workstation application for the imported documents, for example, a PDF with file suffix *.pdf, in Customizing for SAP Cross-Application Components under Document Management -> Control Data -> Data -> General Data -> Define Workstation Application.
