Use
In this Customizing activity, you specify the values of the environment parameters for the bill of material transfer. The assignment of these values is a prerequisite for the transfer.
You use the environment parameters to control how a new composition is created for a specification. If required, you can specify several data records for an environment parameter, and you can specify conditions for each data record based on the data record that is to be used.
A data record can be uniquely identified using the environment parameter and sort sequence fields.You can use the sort sequences to specify the ascending order that is used to check the conditions.
Requirements
Standard settings
You can define the following environment parameters:
BOMBOS_AUTHGRP Authorization group
BOMBOS_BOM_APPL Standard BOM application for the BOMBOS transfer
BOMBOS_BOM_USAGE Standard BOM usage for the BOMBOS transfer
BOMBOS_CMP_USAGE Usage profile for which the data record with the new composition is created in the value assignment
BOMBOS_COMP Value assignment type that is used for the new composition created by the SAP system
BOMBOS_COMPCAT Component type to which the components of the composition are assigned
BOMBOS_DEL_DATE Number of days after which the log is deleted. If you do not enter a value, the log is deleted after 30 days.
BOMBOS_OWNID Data provider of the new data record
BOMBOS_SRSID Data origin
BOMBOS_SUBCAT Specification type
BOMBOS_RECURSIVE If this parameter is set, the bill of material is processed recursively
Activities
- To define conditions for an environment parameter, select the environment parameter and choose Selection Criteria for Environment Parameters.
- Note: To specify selection criteria, use transaction SE11 to call the structure that is assigned to the corresponding combination of selection category and selection object. Select the field name from the structure that you want to specify selection criteria for. The following table shows the parameters and conditions that you can add to any environment parameter to enable you to react differently for different data.

- Specify the selection values for the field names. You can assign the same fields more than once to a combination of a selection category and a selection object. The final defined condition is determined from the single defined conditions. The including/excluding option is considered. The SAP system reads the data records in the sequence that you specify using the sort sequence.
Example
The system assigns the authorization group for the specification that it creates for the bill of material transfer based on the material number. You therefore specify the following environment parameters and values for the following sort sequences:

The following conditions are created for data records (DR) 1and 2:

This results in the following:
- A specification with the authorization group CP010 is created for each material number that begins with 'B'
- A specification with the authorization group CP020 is created for each material number that begins with 'T'
- No specification is created for material numbers that do not begin with 'B' or 'T'. The user can remove these from the log.
If required, you can define a third data record and define it without a condition:

The system checks the conditions in the sequence that you specify in the sort sequence. So, if a material number does not begin with 'B' or 'T', a new specification is created with the authorization group CP030 .
