When using templates, construction progress report data is transferred to or read from the SAP R/3 System. Templates can be any documents that are stored in the R/3 database for Business Document Service (BDS).
In this IMG activity, you determine the templates for construction progress reports that are used for communication with the SAP R/3 System. To do this, you assign a BDS document to the combination of controlling area, project profile, language and activity (create/change or display).
Example
For a project profile you can assign different templates for different languages. You can also display more data on the display screen than you need on the entry screen or the change screen.
Requirements
You have defined the controlling area in Customizing for Controlling using IMG activity Maintain Controlling Area.
You have defined the project profile in Customizing for Project System using IMG activity Create Project Profile.
You have physically stored the document that you want to use as a template in the SAP database using the Business Document Navigator (BDN).
The class defines which applications can be started, which were supported by the SAP Desktop Office Integration. For more information see the SAP Library under Basis Components -> Controls & Control Framework (BC-CI) -> Desktop Office Integration (BC-CI).
The BDN is centrally available via menu path Office -> Business Documents -> Documents -> Find (Transaction OAOR). It can also be reached via the administration menu for Business Documents: Tools -> Business Documents -> Miscellaneous -> Business Documents (Transaction OAER).
