In this IMG activity, you make the basic settings for the reel calculation. The settings are valid on plant level.
1. Detailed data on the plant
Control Indicator
Define whether the reel calculation takes plus tolerances into account when determining a suitable reel.
Calculation Units
You can maintain the data in the material master for the cable and the reel in different units. The reel calculation take place in the units of measure defined here. Units of measure that deviate from the material master are automatically converted in background processing. Define the units of measure that the reel calculation should use in internal processing.
Requirements
Standard settings
In the standard delivery, the length is given in meters (M), the dimensions in millimeters (MM), and the weight in grams (G).
Activities
Example
The material master for cable is given in feet (FT), while the reel dimensions are given in inches ("). The reel calculations are given in meters (M). So the cable and reel data is converted into meters for the reel calculation.
Additions to the Formula
The reel calculation uses mathematical formula to determine the maximum cable length permitted for a particular reel and checks this by comparing it with the cable length entered. The formulas contain various factors whose values you define here.
Standard settings
We recommend that you use the standard settings.
Error Term: Clearance
The reel calculation checks whether the clearance is too large. Define values for the conditions that must be met, otherwise an error message will appear.
Standard settings
We recommend that you use the standard settings.
Coil
Define the reel category that should be used as a coil, and assign the relevant reel type.
Requirements
You have created a material master for the entered reel type with the views Basic Data 1 and 2.
Coil Check
If a cable should be delivered as a coil, the system checks the maximum length and weight of the cable.
In this IMG activity, you define the maximum length and weight permitted for the cable in the coil check. If the cable for delivery exceeds the maximum length or weight, it must be delivered on a reel.
PRECONDITIONS
The system checks this table in the reel calculation. The field Coil Delivery should be selected in the material master for the cable, indicating that the cable may be delivered as a coil.
Reel Determination
You use reel determination when you do not require a reel calculation that complies with the formulas. Store the variant table that you created for the reel determination.
2. Application Control
In this IMG activity, you define the applications in which the automatic reel calculation is switched off.
3. Reel Categories
In this IMG activity, you store all of the reel categories that are valid for the reel calculation.
