In this IMG activiy, you define simple rules for Price Protection transactions.
Simple Rule is based upon a Communication Structure and the checks could be configured based on the values in this Communication Structure. In addition, you can also select records from a Database table and base the simple rule definition on these records.
Calculation types supported for simple rules are: SELECT, PERCENTAGE and Blank.
SELECT: Indicates a data retrieval from a Database table. You specify the name of the table in the Complex Rule definition. You may do the rules checking based upon data retrived from the Database.
PERCENTAGE : A mathematical percentage calculation exists between two fields of the Communication Structure and the output of the Rule is TRUE or FALSE.
BLANK : There is a condition check in the Communication Structure and the output is TRUE or FALSE.
Example
You define a Rule according to which the lots will be eligible for price protection only if the price difference between the old price and the new price is greater than 20%.
You may define the Simple Rule as follows:
Primary Field Name : OLDCONDRATE (Field from Communication Structure, in this case)
Calculation Type : Percentage
Mathematical operator : Substract
With Structure field: NEWCONDRATE (Field from Communication Structure)
Logical Operator: Greater than
Numeric Result: 20
The Communication Structure here is /SAPHT/DRM_PP_RULE_COMM
Requirements
Standard settings
In the standard set up the following Simple Rule is defined:
PPSRD01 : Price protection eligibility based on the price delta. If delta is greater than 20% then the lot is eligible for price protection.
Recommendation
Do not modify the standard price protection rules. Define your own rules if you need additional rules.
