In this IMG activity, You assign validation rule(s) to a combination of DRM profile and transaction code. A validation rule is a set of validation types which are to be done on staging area records while creation/ modification/ processing.

Example

You can assign rule "0001 - Rule for Normal Sell through" to a tracking partner track_partner1 and transaction code MSST- Normal sell through at MS. Then for all staging area records with tthis combination of tracking partner and transaction code will be validated against the validation types present in the validation rule 0001.

Now if you do not want to validate "Ship date is not present" for track_partner2 then you can define another rule Z100 as a copy of 0001 excluding this validation type. Then you can assign this Z100 to tracking partner track_partner2 and transaction code MSST- Normal sell through at MS.
