In the DRM system, a drop-ship sell-in transaction is indicated by using the Drop Ship Flag in the Sales B tab for the sales order line item. If this flag is set (i.e. if the value is 'X'), the sell-in transaction is treated as drop-ship transaction by the system.
This IMG activity enables the user to set this flag automatically/ manually at the time of sales order creation. This involves setting up of two indicators as a part of the order type definition. They are:
1. A Drop Ship Logic indicator.
2. A Manual Entries indicator . This indicator can take a value depending on the value of Drop Ship Logic indicator.
The combination of the above two indicators gives the user the flexibility to indicate drop ship sell in transactions automatically/ manually.
The possible values for Drop Ship Logic indicator are:
1. A (Manual Logic):
If the value of Drop ship logic indicator is set to A, then the dropship flag in a sales order line item (in the Sales B view) has to be checked manually by the user to indicate a drop-ship sell-in.
2. B (Automatic Logic, wherever Ship-to-party is different from Sold-to-party):
If the value of Drop Ship Logic indicator is set to B, then the dropdhip flag in the sales order line items (in the Sales B view) will be set automatically by the system if the Ship-to-party is different from the Sold-to-party in the sales order Header.
3. C (Automatic Logic, wherever Ship-to-party and Sold-to-party roll up to different tracking partners):
If the value of Drop Ship Logic indicator is set to C, then the dropship flag in the sales order line items (in the Sales B view) will be set automatically by the system wherever the Ship-to-party and the Sold-to-party in the sales order Header roll up to different tracking partners.
Manual Entries indicator carries meaning only if Drop Ship Logic indicator is set to B or C. The possible values for the Manual Entries indicator are :
1. Y (Manual entry has priority):
If the value of this indicator is set to Y, the sytem will allow the user to manually override the dropship flag (in Sales B view) which the system has set based on automatic drop-ship logic.
2. N (Automatic entry has priority)
If the value of this indicator is set to Y, the system will NOT allow the user to manually override the Drop Ship Flag (in Sales B view) set by the system based on automatic dropship logic.
