In this IMG activity, you assign validation rule(s) to a combination of DRM profile and transaction code. A validation rule is a set of validation types which are to be performed on staging area records while creation/ modification/ processing.

Example

You can assign rule "0001 - Rule for Claim Acceptance" to a partner1 and transaction code DCLMA "Ship & Debit Claim Accepted at DR". Then all staging area records with this combination of partner and transaction code will be validated against the validation types included in the validation rule 0001.

Now if you do not want to validate "Ship date is not present" for partner2 then you can define another rule Z100 as a copy of 0001 excluding this validation type. Then you can assign this Z100 to partner2 and transaction code DCLMA "Ship & Debit Claim Accepted at DR".
