In this IMG activity, you define the simple rules for price protection transaction.
Simple rules are based upon a communication structure and the checks could be configured based on the values in this communication structure. In addition, you can also select the records from Database tables and base the simple rules definition on the data in these records.
Three Calculation Types supported for a simple rule are: SELECT, PERCENTAGE and Blank.
SELECT : Indicates a data retrieval from a database table and you have to specify the name of the table in the complex rule definition. You may do the rules checking based upon the data retrieved from the database.
PERCENTAGE : A mathematical percentage calculation exist between two fields of the communication structure and the out put of the rule is True or False.
BLANK: There is a condition check in the communication structure and the output will be True or False.
Example
You want to define a rule according to which the lots will be eligible for price protection only if the price difference between the old price and the new price is greater than 20%.
You may define the simple rule as follows:
Primary Field Name: OLDCONDRATE
Calculation Type: Percentage
Mathematical operator: Substract
With field: NEWCONDRATE
Logical Operator: Greater than
Numeric Result: 20
Standard settings
In the standard system, the following rule is defined :
PPSRD01 : Price protection eligibility based on the price delta. If delta is greater than 20% then the lot is eligible for price protection.
Recommendation
Do not modify the standard price protection rules. Define your own rules as per your need.
