Use

In this Customizing activity, you can assign logical systems to RFC destinations and to portal system aliases.

This Customizing data is used within the Object Navigator.

In certain scenarios, objects of remote systems are displayed in the Object Navigator. These external objects are retrieved using an RFC that has a destination name maintained in the data base view.

In addition to the Object Navigator, this Customizing activity is used in the navigation functionality. From the Object Navigator you can navigate to the source systems of external objects. This means the portal system alias has to be maintained in order to navigate to a certain external system in the portal environment.

For navigation using the NWBC or a browser stand-alone, the HTTP destinations have to be created in transaction SM59 (Configuration of RFC Connections) in addition to the RFC connection that is already maintained in the data base view.

Destinations for a common HTTP connection has to have the suffix _HTTP.

A secure HTTPS connection has to have the suffix _HTTPS.
