Use

In this step, you assign the reports to be run as a result of rule type violations in the budget monitoring scenario.

When reports are assigned to specific rule types and the checks against these rule types identify some violation, the assigned reports run automatically as triggered reports or chart reports.

For triggered reports, you can:

  • Define parameter behavior
  • Define parameter default values
  • Assign related reports

For chart reports, you can

  • Define parameter default values
  • Define the chart settings
  • Define the chart series

Requirements

Standard settings

There are four predefined rule types:

CCCP    Cost Center Critical Posting

CCCV    Cost Center Critical Variance

IOCP    Internal Order Critical Posting

IOCV    Internal Order Critical Variance

Activities

For any rule type, you can assign:

  • Triggered reports
  • Chart reports

Triggered Reports

For each triggered report you want to assign to a rule type, select the rule type and perform the following steps:

  • Specify the report attributes

These attributes include the RFC destination that identifies the system where the report is located and the source system type from which it derives (for example ERP or BW). To make the report available to users, you must activate it.

Further definable attributes include the ALV layout and forwarding options, as well as the role, to which the report belongs. You can also enter the e-mail address of the report owner.

  • Define parameter behavior

Most of the fields that define the parameter behavior are prefilled according to what you select above, but you can configure From and To parameters to activate From and To fields.

    • You can configure From parameters for all paramter types
    • You can only configure To parameters for the parameter types Select Options and Interval

You can also configure field display options such as Editable, Non-Editable, Hidden and Disabled. If you set a display option to Disabled, the field is not visible in the application.

  • Define parameter default values

Most of the fields that define the parameter default values are prefilled according to the parameter behavior definition above. You can define the Low/From and High/To values for the parameters based on the parameter types and behavior settings.

Optionally, you can also assign context parameters to these parameters.

  • Assign related reports

You can assign related reports to this report, but the related reports must satisfy certain criteria:

    • They must already exist
    • They must be already defined in the current report catalog
    • Only activated reports are available to the user

Chart Reports

For each chart report you want to assign to a rule type, select the rule type and perform the following steps:

  • Specify the report attributes

These attributes include the RFC destination that identifies the system where the report is located and the source system type from which it derives (for example ERP or BW). To make the report available to users, you must set it to active.

Further definable attributes include the role and the ALV layout.

  • Define parameter default values

Most of the fields that define the parameter default values are prefilled based on the report metadata. You can define the Low/From and High/To values for the parameters based on the parameter types.

Optionally, you can also assign context parameters to these parameters.

  • Define chart settings

These attributes include the chart type (for example, bar chart) and the series type, which determines whether the data is organized in rows or columns. You can also specify whether to display indivdual totals or cumulate them for each column or row, as well as the sort order for display (if there is more than one chart), the X-axis title, the Y-axis title, whether the chart is active, and the row number indicating in which row the actual data display starts

  • Define chart series

Here, you specify the chart series, which determines the display order of the data and from which row or column the information derives.
