Use
Here you create report catalogs and assign reports to them.
Each report catalog groups reports for a particular application (scenario). For each report, you can:
- Specify parameter behavior
- Specify default values
- Define scheduling
- Assign related reports
Requirements
The reports you assign to the report catalogs must already exist.
Standard settings
Activities
To set up a report catalog, create the report catalog and then assign reports to it.
For each report you assign to the report catalog, you must:
- Specify the report attributes
These attributes include the RFC destination that identifies the system where the report is located and the source system type from which it derives (for example ERP or BW). To make the report available to users, you must activate it.
You can also specify whether a report is scheduled, unscheduled or both.
- If you set the report to scheduled, users can schedule the report to run at a certain time
- If you set the report to unscheduled, users can run the report any time on an ad-hoc basis
- If you set the report to both scheduled and unscheduled, users can either schedule the report to run at a certain time or run it on an ad-hoc basis
- At least one of these options must be set, but if you don't set the report to active, the report is unavailable to users and these two scheduling options are ineffective.
Further definable attributes include the ALV layout and forwarding options, as well as the role, tab and scenario to which the report belongs. You can also enter the e-mail address of the report owner.
- Define parameter behavior
Most of the fields that define the parameter behavior are automatically filled according to what you select above, but you can configure From and To parameters to activate From and To fields.
- You can configure From parameters for all parameter types
- You can only configure To parameters for the parameter types Select Options and Interval
You can also configure field display options such as Editable, Non-Editable, Hidden and Disabled. If you set a display option to Disabled, the field is not visible in the application.
- Define parameter default values
Most of the fields that define the parameter default values are prefilled according to the parameter behavior definition above. You can define the Low/From and High/To values for the parameters based on the parameter types and behavior settings.
- Define scheduling options
Report scheduling options allow you to specify the sort order for mulltiple schedules, as well as the start date, start time, and frequency. There are specific daily, monthly, and yearly scheduling options.
- Assign related reports
You can assign related reports to this report, but the related reports must satisfy certain criteria:
- They must already exist
- They must be already defined in the current report catalog
- Only activated reports are available to the user
