Use
In this Customizing activity, you can create appointment interval groups for filtering according to certain intervals in an appointment search. For example, you can filter for only morning appointments if you are determining an interval group for the required time span in a morning.
The interval group is used by the service employee when conversing with the customer to agree on a time span in which the technician should reach the customer or within which the service is to be provided.
You specify whether the duration of the demand (service) is to be included in the time window offered in the Customizing activity Make General Settings for Appointment Booking.
Requirements
You have created time intervals in the Customizing activityCreate Time Intervals.
Standard settings
Activities
Enter a name and description for the appointment interval group and define the intervals according to your requirements.
The following applies:
- For the Automatically Create Assignment for Resource Planning Node and Resource Capacity (with external service providers) appointment booking types, the interval group comprises one or more intervals. For this, you must enter a start time and a duration, which must not overlap.
- For the Resource Planning Node Capacity and Resource Capacity (with internal time-based resources) appointment booking types, you have to link the interval group with a time interval ID.
Example
You can use appointment interval groups to align appointment intervals flexibly with certain customer groups. If you use the Resource Planning Node Capacity or Resource Capacity appointment booking types, you can do the following, for example:
- You define an appointment interval group that you either a) assign a time interval ID or b) assign multiple related time interval IDs.
- Case a): You create an appointment interval group FULL_MORN that spans the entire morning. You assign exactly one time interval ID (2) to this group (6:00 to 12:00).
- The service employee can select this interval group in the appointment booking dialog, for example, to offer silver customers an appointment within this time window.
- Case b): You create an appointment interval group INT_MORN that spans multiple intervals. You assign multiple time interval IDs, such as 4 (6:00 to 8:00), 5 (8:00 to 10:00), and 6 (10:00 to 12:00), to this group.
- In the appointment booking dialog, the service employee can select this interval group, for example, to offer gold customers various appointments in the morning.
