Use

In this Customizing activity, you define the profile for the user interface (UI profile).

Requirements

In Customizing for the bar chart, you have created a graphics profile under Define Graphic Profiles.

Standard settings

SAP provides the UI profile STANDARD with the following layouts:

  • DEM_PLAN (Demand Planning Layout)
  • RES_PLAN (Resource Planning Layout)

Activities

  1. Under Define User Interface Profile, set the basic display attributes for the planning board.
  2. Under Views, create predefined views that users can select on the interface. The views represent combinations of settings for displaying planning board elements.
  3. Under Container Layout Name, create UI layouts or customize the shipped layouts according to your requirements.

In the Container Positions in Layout subfolder, specify the arrangement and visibility of the screen contents (containers) in the scheduler workplace.

For more information, see Integrating Gantt Charts (see below).

Note: You have to use all five available container positions and assign screen contents to each position, even if you do not want to display it in the interface layout. In this case, ensure that the relevant checkbox is not selected.

  4. Under Status Groups for Assignments, define status groups for each profile and assign graphical element types for assignments, travel times, and partial concretizations.
  5. Under Status Groups for Demands, define status groups for each profile and assign graphical element types.

Note: Graphical element types are part of maintaining graphics profiles.

  6. Under Display of Time Allocations, assign a graphical element type for each time allocation.
  7. Under Display of Time Data, assign a graphical element type to each system status for time data.
  8. Under Assignment Sorting by Sort Groups, define groups of assignments with specific characteristics and specify the order in which the system displays the sort groups in the planning board.
  9. Under Transaction Jumps, define pushbuttons and input values for calling certain transactions. The system then exports the list with the GUIDs of the demands, resources, and resource planning nodes automatically to the ABAP memory.
  10. Under Resource List Fields in Resource Gantt, define the resource fields that are not to be displayed on the planning board for resources.
  11. Under Resource Fields for Table-Based Maintenance, define the resource fields that are not to be displayed in the table view of the planning board.
  12. Under Other Graphical Elements of Planning Board, define how the remaining elements (except assignments and time allocations) are to be displayed graphically (for example, time line, totals bar, links).

Settings for Day-Based Scheduling

To create day-based assignments, choose the Define User Interface Profiles folder in the dialog structure and select the following checkboxes:

  • Hide Non-Working Times
  • Show Capacitive Assignments in Planning Row
  • Create New Day-Based Assignments

You can configure further settings for day-based scheduling in the Customizing activity Define Planning Board Profile.

Integrating Gantt Charts

You can integrate various Gantt charts when configuring UI layouts. The following Gantt charts are available as standard:

  • Gantt chart for resources
  • Gantt chart for demands
  • Gantt chart for capacity planning nodes
  • Gantt chart for dispatching

If you want to integrate one or more of the Gantt charts listed above into a UI layout, proceed as follows:

  • Integrating Gantt chart for resources
    • In the Container Positions in Layout subfolder, select the input option 1-Planning Board for Resources in the Content on the Screen column.
    • Select the Visible checkbox to display the Gantt chart for resources on the UI.
  • Integrating Gantt charts for demands, capacity planning nodes, and dispatching (DPD - Demand Planning and Dispatching - Gantt)
    • In the Container Positions in Layout subfolder, select the input option 1-Planning Board for Resources in the Content on the Screen column.
    • Select the entry and choose the Screen Content Items subfolder in the dialog structure. Here, create entries for the three Gantt charts you require and specify in which sequence the charts are to appear on the UI.
  • Displaying all Gantt charts in one view

If you want to display the Gantt chart for resources as well as the DPD Gantt at the same time, proceed as follows:

    • In the Container Positions in Layout subfolder, select the input option 1-Planning Board for Resources in the Content on the Screen column and select the Visible checkbox. Do not define any other screen content items here.
    • Create another entry. For this entry, enter the option 2-Planning Board for DPD Gantt Chart and select the Visible checkbox.
    • Select the entry and choose the Screen Content Items subfolder in the dialog structure.
    • Create the entries for the three Gantt charts of the DPD Gantt.
