Use

In this IMG activity, you define a profile that determines which alerts are relevant. You also use alert types to group alerts.

Requirements

Standard settings

SAP provides standard settings.

Activities

  1. Select Alert Profile and choose New Entries.
  2. Enter the required messages (alerts).

    The alert monitor accepts only those messages that you enter here. The STANDARD profile provided by SAP contains all the messages that can be generated by the provided check classes. Each message is assigned to an alert type. You can also define the message type.

    Note:

    In this IMG activity, you can increase the urgency of the message type set by the check class. For example, if a particular message is to be displayed by the check class as a warning message (message type W), you can define that is to be displayed as an error message (message type E) instead. However, you cannot reduce the urgency of the message type set by the check class (for instance, you cannot change the message type from error to information).

  3. Specify the non-relevant alert types.

    If an alert belongs to a non-relevant alert type, it is ignored in the alert monitor.

Note:

Rather than deleting messages you do not require, define non-relevant alert types in this IMG activity.
