Use

In this IMG activity, you specify which infotypes and fields the system checks in the HR master record, in order to control the approval of employee profiles in the approval workflow.

Note: If the required infotype is not specified in the employee's HR master record, approval is required by the employee or manager as standard.

Activities

You select an approval category and in each case, define an infotype and field that the system checks to map the required approval workflow. However, you can specify only those infotypes and fields that meet the following criteria:

  • The infotype must not have multiple uses for time constraints.
  • The infotype must not have any subtypes.
  • The field must be configured as a checkbox.

Example

  • You assign infotype 9222 and field EMP_APPROVAL to approval category EMP_APP. This means that approval category EMP_APP refers to the workflow variant with which the manager makes changes to the employee profile.
  • To check whether the relevant employee has to approve the changes made by the manager, the system refers to the specified infotype and the field.
  • If the indicator is not set in field EMP_APPROVAL of infotype 9222, the employee must confirm the changes made by the manager. Otherwise, this approval step does not apply.
