Use

For a controlling area, you can generate the following hierarchy from the organizational structure for any key date:

  • Standard hierarchy

Requirements

You have defined the fiscal year interval for which the objects of the particular hierarchy are to be valid. The system controls which objects are included in the particular hierarchy based on this time interval.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Enter the key date for which the hierarchy is to be generated.

    The system proposes the current date. You can overwrite this value.

  2. If you want to generate a CO alternative hierarchy, assign a suffix to the hierarchy.

    Note: all hierarchies, with the exception of standard hierarchies, must have a suffix in their name.

  3. If you want to replace the standard hierarchy with an alternative one:
    1. Enter the name of the alternative hierarchy that is to replace the standard hierarchy
      2. Note: when generating the new standard hierarchy, the system automatically removes the suffix from the former name.
    2. Assign a suffix to the old standard hierarchy.
      3. This now becomes an alternative hierarchy.
  4. Specify whether the hierarchy is to be generated for cost or profit centers.
  5. Specify whether you want to run the generation program as a test run.
  6. Choose Execute.

In the case of large hierarchies, run the generation program in the background. To do so, choose Program -> Execute in Background.

Sometimes, in the case of large hierarchies, the generation program terminates during online processing due to timeout.
