Use
In this IMG activity, you define which node type can have variants and alternatives. You must define these model assignments if you have created new node, variant, and alternative types in the previous IMG activities.
Requirements
Standard settings
There is a very comprehensive range of model assignments in the standard Customizing. You can use these model assignments together with node types, variant types, and alternative types to build up an entire structure.
When you create a node and maintain variants and alternatives in the Workbench, the system automatically uses the model assignment that belongs to it.
The standard contains the following model assignments as part of the Defense Forces and Public Security project:
- Material planning object - single-part BOM
The single-part BOM is assigned as an alternative to the material planning object node type.
- Material planning object - model
The model is assigned as a variant to the material planning object node type.
- Material planning object - user-defined text item
The user-defined text item is assigned as an alternative to the material planning object node type.
Use the standard model assignments.
