Use
In this IMG activity, you can define additional iPPE node types. You can specify which characteristics a certain iPPE node type should have and what it should be called.
Standard settings
The standard system contains a wide range of possible iPPE node types. You can restrict the characteristics of these standard node types, but you cannot extend them. The standard node types cover the following functions:
- Material planning object
- Material packages
- Product structure
- Process structure
- Line design
In addition to the nodes provided for the production master data environment, the standard also contains the following iPPE node types for the Defense Forces and Public Security project:
- Material planning object (technical name S_DFMPO)
- Material package (technical name S_DFSSP)
You can change the names of the standard iPPE node types, but you cannot create new ones by extending the attributes of an existing node type.
The namespace "S" is reserved for standard iPPE node types, so you cannot create node types beginning with "S".
Recommendation
We recommend you work with the standard iPPE node types.
Activities
Further notes
If nodes have already been created in the system for an iPPE node type, you can no longer delete this iPPE node type. Also, if the node type is already being used, you can no longer change its attributes.
