Use

In this IMG activity, you define what structure levels you want to use. The structure level determines the size of a force element (for example, a brigade or a superior authority).

There are various different structure levels, and which one you adopt depends on the type of organizational area (military or civilian).

Standard settings

The standard system already contains a range of pre-defined structure levels and organizational area types (military, civilian, aid, or policing organization) that you can use.

You can also, for example, change the descriptions of the standard structure levels and restrict their characteristics, if required.

Recommendation

We recommend you work with the standard structure levels.

Activities

Check that the standard structure levels meet your requirements.

If necessary, create new structure levels:

  1. In the field Organizational Area Type, use the input help to select the organizational area type you want to group your new structure levels in.
  2. In the field Level, enter the key for the new structure level.
  3. In the field Code, you can enter any code for your new structure level.
This code can be up to eight characters long and can comprise numbers, letters, or special characters.
However, as this field is language-dependent, we recommend you use letters.
  4. In the field Description, you enter a description for your new structure level.
  5. By setting the flag Hide, you can hide a structure level in standard transactions.
It makes sense to hide a structure level if you no longer want it to be used, but you cannot delete it because it is still used in infotype 1950. A hidden structure level can no longer be processed in the standard transactions.
