In this IMG activity you define period groups. The static period group attributes for the factory calendar and fiscal year variant determine the specific behavior of the individual period groups. For internal conversion, period group functions require function modules that are based on the factory calendar and/or the fiscal year variant. The period determined from the period group and the 'From' date is always the period from the period group into which the 'From' date falls.
Requirements
Contract handling uses the factory calendar for date control. You must therefore make the factory calendars available (YD for a decade, YM for a month, YQ for a quarter, YH for a half year and YY yearly).
Standard settings
The standard delivery contains common period groups.
Activities
Use all the period groups from the standard table, or only the ones you require. You can also create your own period groups.
Further notes
If you define your own period groups, you need your own function modules for internal conversion. You can create them by copying the standard function modules (in the customer name space).
