In this IMG activity, you define submodules for controlling the Contract Data Pool (CDP). To set up the function modules, you must carry out the actions listed below:
- Define the call level and call sequence (level number)
- Create the function modules to be called
- Assign a period group
- Activate/deactivate the function modules for the CDP update
- Assign all submodules to the superordinate application area
All function modules that you use in the CDP update must have defined interfaces. The system checks the function modules when calling the CDP upload. If there is an error, the CDP upload cannot be started and an error message is issued.
Requirements
You only need to set up CDP control if you want to generate information from contract handling for analysis purposes. The CDP tables can also be used for a BW application (Business Information Warehouse).
Standard settings
Predefined submodules and the function modules belonging to them for controlling the Contract Data Pool (CDP) are part of the standard delivery.
Activities
Use the submodules and function modules provided or define your own.
Further notes
The submodules are organizational criteria for controlling certain processes within an application area. They are organized in the CH delivery so that a submodule is available for each target database.
You only need new submodules if you also need new databases or if you cannot implement your own update modules in existing submodules.
Example
The submodule CONTRACT is responsible for contract master data, for example. The contract balances are held in the submodule SALDO. The basic submodule BASE provides important data for all other function modules.
