The reason why a customer returns goods is maintained in Customizing and entered in the order. The entry does not affect further steps in the system. It is merely used for statistics purposes. The lab result of analyzing the returned goods will be available later. This result determines the further use of the goods.
The analysis key maps the analysis result of the lab in the system.
The analysis key controls determining the item category for the sales document (credit memo) and the movement types, the storage locations and plants for the goods transfer posting.
When the goods are transferred from the returns entry order to the returns blocked stock, it is absolutely necessary (regardless of the analysis result)to define the movement type, the storage location and the plant for the posting transfer.
The analysis key is not copied into the target documents.
