Generic material '&' has no variants => insertion not possible

Diagnosis

You want to add a generic material to the item overview but no variants are assigned to this generic material. Generic materials do not usually have any operative meaning, and are only included in the product catalog to make variant maintenance easier. A generic material without variants cannot be used in the product catalog.

System Response

The material is not copied to the item overview.

Procedure

Only add generic materials to the item overview if variants have been assigned to them. You can also enter variants for an existing generic material in material master maintenance, and then add the generic material to the item overview.
