The material ledger is active for at least one participating company code. Some participating company codes have a valuation area with an activated material ledger and some company codes have a valuation area with a material ledger that is not activated. If you merge company codes with these settings, there will be inconsistencies and functional restrictions. For more information see SAP note 596558.
