Diagnosis
Data could not be locked exclusively. Locks are required to make sure the database is consistent when data is modified.
The locks could not be set for one of the following reasons:
- The data is currently locked by another user.
- The data is referenced and can only be modified in the referenced specification.
- The data is inherited and can only be modified in the source specification.
- The selected specification is of a specification type (for example, pure substance) that cannot be changed in this case.
System Response
The system displays the data.
Procedure
If you need to change the data, make the changes once the data is no longer locked by another user.
If the data is being referenced or was inherited, change the data directly in the referenced specification or the source specification that is inherited.
Note: These changes affect all other specifications that reference the modified one, or that inherit data from the modified specification. To prevent your changes from affecting all other specifications, you can overwrite the referenced or inherited data without changing the source specification in specification maintenance. For inheritance, you must also configure the inheritance template to allow inherited data to be overwritten.
