Diagnosis

Exchange rates between two currencies can be specified in different ways. The example below explains what you have to be aware of.

Example

Local currency is UNI, foreign currency is USD. The relation between the currencies is such that 1 USD = 2.5 UNI.

The exchange rate can be quoted in the following forms:

  • 2.50000 (direct quotation, 1 USD = 2.5 UNI)
  • /0.40000 (indirect quotation, 1 UNI = 0.4 USD)

The quotation that is used is defined in Customizing for each currency pair. All exchange rates in the conversion tables must be defined for the notation specified for the respective currency pair.

Exchange rates that you want to define explicitly for a posting must also be made in the specified notation.

In the current case you have not specified the exchange rate in the correct notation. The table rate shows the correct notation.
