Documentation
Definition
Indicator for using the net change method.
Use
The net change method only includes materials that have been subject to replenishment-relevant changes since requirements were last calculated.
The changes could include, for example, changes to stock or the replenishment parameters.
Using the net change method improves system performance. If you choose not to use the method, the requirement calculation is run for all materials that are active for replenishment.
Notes
If you choose to calculate target stock dynamically, using the net change version may result in some materials being excluded from your calculation.
Example
Start the requirement calculation function for a material, and calculate your target stock dynamically. Activate the net change method. Due to increasing forecasted sales, a higher target stock (calculated dynamically) is generated than when requirements were last calculated.
The material is not, however, included in the requirement calculation as no replenishment-relevant changes have been made since requirements were last calculated.
It is therefore recommended that you only use the net change method for materials whose target stock is calculated dynamically and for whom sales (and therefore stock changes) have been recorded since the requirement calculation was last run.
