Definition

Indicator for determining the source of supply.

The following information is determined when a supply source is determined:

  • Internal supplying plant (distribution center)
  • External vendor
  • Purchasing organization
  • Preconfiguation of document category
  • Information about the relevance of the material-customer combination for collective purchase orders

If you choose to determine the source of supply for your delivery, you must also determine all the necessary master data.

Supplementary Documentation - WSRP_DECSOS0001

Use

In the three-step replenishment method, the supply source can be determined when the data for the replenishment requirement calculation or the calculation itself are determined. The indicator can be set for defining the data for the replenishment requirement calculation or for the actual calculation.

If the indicator is set for the determination of the data for the replenishment requirement calculation, the source of supply for follow-on document generation and the replenishment requirement calculation is stored temporarily so that performance is optimized when the supply source is determined when the replenishment requirement is calculated and the follow-on documents are generated.

If the source of supply is determined when the data is determined, changes are not included if they were made between the definition of the source of supply and the definition of the data for calculating the replenishment requirement.

Use

In the three-step replenishment method , the supply source can be determined when the data for the replenishment requirement calculation or the calculation itself are determined.

In the two-step replenishment method, the source of supply must be determined when the replenishment requirement is run or when follow-on documents are generated. If, however, replenishment requirements are to be rounded when the replenishment requirements are calculated, you have to determine the source of supply and the rounding parameters.

Notes

Follow-on documents are generated using the store order function. If you want to determine the source of supply when you generate follow-on documents, this is done in the store order function.

Use

In the three-step replenishment method, you can determine the source of supply when you generate the data for the replenishment requirement calculation or when the follow-on documents are generated. This means that you can set the relevant indicator when the data for running the replenishment requirement calculation is generated or when the follow-on documents are generated.

If the indicator is set for the determination of the data for the replenishment requirement calculation, the source of supply is stored temporarily for the calculation of the replenishment requirement and follow-on document generation. This means that performance is optimized when the source of supply is determined for the replenishment requirement calculation and the follow-on documents are generated.

If the source of supply is determined when the data for the replenishment requirement calculation is generated, changes to the source of supply are not taken into consideration if they were generated after the data for the calculation of the replenishment requirement was generated and the generation of the follow-on documents took place.

In the two-step replenishment method, the source of supply must be determined when the replenishment requirement is calculated or when follow-on documents are generated. If, however, the requirements are to be rounded when the replenishment requirement is calculated, you must determine the rounding parameters and the source of supply when you calculate the replenishment requirement.
