Definition
This indicates that the RMA Audit Trail function can only be executed inside the RMA period close process if RMA Recasting is also used in the system. The audit trail could not be executed outside the RMA period close time window. This restriction is necessary because a change of the merchandise or article hierarchy is not allowed inside the period close window. This means the hierarchy is stable and can be used for an accurate determination of source documents in the audit trail.
Outside the period close window, the hierarchy can be changed (for example reassignments of articles or hierarchy nodes). If an audit trail is executed in this period, the numbers in the query will deviate from the numbers displayed in the audit trail.
Use
This indicator was introduced to make it possible to configure it in case the audit trail is executed in the time window of the period close. In some cases, for example, an external revision, it might be necessary to allow the execution of the audit trail outside the period close window also.
In SAP standard delivery this indicator is always set, which means the audit trail can only be executed during the period close. If a customer would like to allow an audit trail outside the period close, this indicator must be removed. What is important is that outside of the period close, the results of the audit trail can deviate from the numbers displayed in the query if recasting is also used in the system.
Dependencies
The restriction that the audit trail can only be executed inside the period close time window is only relevant if recasting is used in the system. If recasting is not used, the audit trail can always be executed.
If the indicator is set (standard delivery), the audit trail is only allowed during the period close if recasting is used. If the indicator is not set, the audit trail can always be executed regardless of whether recasting is used.
If recasting is used, even if the audit trail is executed outside the period close, results for article-dependent transactions will always be based on the RMA object hierarchy snapshot of the latest fiscal year period in the past to be closed. This means data store object 0RMA_DS11 has to be filled prior to the execution of the audit trail, and articles for the document selection are determined from the state of the RMA object hierarchy at the time the latest RMA period was closed.
