Definition
Use
The system displays the selected materials in the worklist at the highest level - that is, only single and generic materials. If you selected a variant explicitly, the system displays the corresponding generic material with the variant flag in the worklist. This flag is only set, however, if the corresponding generic material was not selected as well.
The system also flags the generic materials with explicitly selected variants (or the variants themselves) in the profile assignment.
Dependencies
The system can highlight data records with set variant flags in a different color. You can define the color in Customizing for markdown proposal assignment.
Example
Assume material 4711 is a generic material. It has the following four variants:
- 4711001, color red, size 38
- 4711002, color red, size 40
- 4711003, color green, size 38
- 4711004, color green, size 40
If you enter variant 4711002 in field Material Number in the material selection, the system displays generic material 4711 with a set variant flag in the worklist. When you navigate to the generic material/color/size level, the system sets the variant flag for variant 4711002. The system displays the other variants of the generic material without the variant flag. This indicates that you have selected variant 4711002 explicitly.
