Definition

The planning date defines when the forecast interprets the time sequences as forecasting periods. The date that is entered is converted to the first day of the relevant forecasting period.

Example

Planning date example:

• The planning date is Wednesday, September 6.
• The forecasting period is week.

As the forecasting period is week, the planning date is set to the start of the period, in this case Monday, September 4. All time series values before September 4 are interpreted as historic values and are regarded as such in the forecast that is run by the system.

All time series values after September 4 are regarded as 'future' time periods and are not therefore defined when the forecast is actually run by the system.
