Definition
Procedure with which you define the way in which the system is to determine the optimum forecast model.
Procedure 1
The system uses a significance test to determine whether the process is trend-dependent or season-dependent and selects the forecast model accordingly.
Procedure 2
The system calculates the different forecast models, carries out parameter optimization and selects the model with the smallest mean absolute deviation.
Procedure 2 is more precise, but it is considerably more time-consuming than procedure 1.
