Example
A sales order with a quantity of 100 kg is fully associated with a purchase order with a quantity of 100 kg. An outbound delivery is created from the sales order with a quantity of 90 kg. The completion flag is set for the outbound delivery and the flag "send completion flag" is given the value "S". The completion flag is also set for the preceding item in the sales order. As the item in the outbound delivery only has a quantity of 90 kg, the association between the sales order item and the purchase order still has an active quantity of 10kg (this means that 10kg of the purchase order quantity is still reserved for the sales order item). On the other hand, the sales order item is flagged as "completed". Therefore, no other outbound delivery is created from it.
By setting the flag in the association between the sales order item and the purchase order the active quantity of 10kg is no longer taken into account. The open quantity of the purchase order item increases by this quantity.
