Validity concept for hierarchies (with hierarchy-defining entity types)
Use
This setting determines whether the system should delimit the validity of the hierarchy (for example, make it edition-dependent).
Dependencies
If you choose the option Hierarchy is Edition Dependent, you need to assign an edition for the hierarchy-defining entity type in collective processing (Web Dynpro application USMD_ENTITY).
