Use
Uploads of hierarchies have two modes of operation:
- Delete All
First the system deletes all relationships in the hierarchy. If the hierarchy is a cross-name hierarchy, the system deletes all hierarchy relationships. Then the system transfers the new hierarchy relationships.
- Overwrite or Add
The system transfers the hierarchy relationships. Existing hierarchy relationships are overwritten. Hierarchy relationships that do not yet exist, are created.
If the hierarchy has attributes, the following applies: The upload file must contain all attributes. Existing attributes at hierarchy relationships that are either initial or missing in the upload file are overwritten with the initial value.
If the lower-level object in a hierarchy relationship is originally a range, the following applies during overwriting:
- If the new object is a range, the system writes the upper value of the range.
- If the new object is not a range, the system deletes the upper value of the range.
