Definition
Defines whether a required entry field on the change request level is also a required entry field on the workflow step level. Removing the check mark from the checkbox for requiring a field entry ensures that the field becomes optional for the workflow step.

Example
When you create a supplier, the reconciliation account ID becomes a required entry field. The first processor who creates a supplier typically does not know the reconciliation account number, but sometimes he or she does. Therefore, you want to make field optional for the first step, but required for the subsequent steps. To do this, you remove the selection for the required field check for the first step.
