Definition

Identifies which business object types the entity type belongs to.

Use

You typically assign exactly one business object type to an entity type. All entity types of a data model that are assigned to a common business object type define the business object type in the application framework for Master Data Governance.

The system evaluates this assignment in the following situations:

  1. During the replication of a change request. The system uses the entity types of the change request to determine the business object types to be replicated.
  2. During the creation of the templates for SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search. The system creates these templates for a given business object type. The system uses this assignment to determine the entity types that match the business object type.

Dependencies

You can view the available business object types in the Customizing activity Define Business Objects Available for Replication.

Example

  • The business object type business partner is assigned to the entity type BP_HEADER of data model BP.
  • You can assign the business object types chart of accounts and G/L account to the entity type ACCOUNT of a data model in Financials. In this case, the entity type belongs to two business object types: the stand-alone object type G/L account and the higher-level object type chart of accounts.
