Documentation
Definition
Determines whether an entity type allows for attachments.
Use
If this indicator is selected, you can store attachments (for example, Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF files) to entities that belong to this entity type. The system automatically provides a data store for this.
You use the UI element Attachments to define the attachments and their attributes.
Dependencies
This indicator can be selected only for entity types with storage and use type1.
Example
You want to store a text file with explanations concerning a master data account directly with a data record of the master data account itself. To do this, you select the Attachments indicator for the entity type in the data model. The attachments are stored in separate database tables.
With regards to the user interface design, when the indicator is selected, UI elements are available for uploading and displaying the attachments.
