Documentation
Definition
Indicates whether the master data is converted to the external format when downloading the data, and converted back to the internal format when uploading the data.
Use
In most cases, it is beneficial to select the checkbox. If the indicator is selected, the data is converted to, or from, the external format, which you usually also want to do for program user interfaces.
If you do not select the checkbox, the data is exported in the internal format of the SAP system. This is useful, for example, when transferring the data to another SAP system.
If you do not select the checkbox for uploads, the data in the upload file needs to be in the internal format of the SAP system. If the data is in the wrong format, the system issues an error message and the data cannot be loaded.
