Documentation
Definition
Represents the properties of an entity type in a hierarchy within a data model.
A hierarchy attribute from a reference is an edge attribute with a property that reflects the combination of a node and a higher-level node in a hierarchy. If a given entity appears in different positions in the hierarchy (underneath different higher-level nodes), then the system stores the values of the hierarchy attributes separately for each of these positions.
A hierarchy attribute reflects a relationship of the type referencing, from which the system derives resolved attributes with a reference to an entity type.
Use
You define a hierarchy attribute for each property you want to assign to an entity type in a hierarchy in the data model. The defined attributes are available when you process hierarchies.
As an alternative, you can also define a hierarchy attribute as an entity type with the storage and use type 3 , and assign it to entity types in the subdialog Entity Types for Hierarchies -> Hierarchy Attributes from References.
Dependencies
Example
A hierarchy of consolidation units references the hierarchy attribute accounting technique: A different accounting technique can be assigned to the same consolidation unit for each consolidation group of a higher-level node.
