Definition

Defines whether the system automatically updates only buffered dates for which a more recent date is available, or updates all data. The system compares the time stamp of every buffered date in the SEM system with the time stamp of the three following objects:

  • Time stamp of assigned value field (for a scorecard or value driver tree) or time stamp of assigned frames (for a cockpit)
  • Time stamp of source InfoCubes
  • Time stamp of source query

If the time stamp of one of the three objects above is more recent than the time stamp for the buffered date in the SEM system, the date is replaced by the date in the SAP Business Information Warehouse (SAP BW). Otherwise the date is not updated.

Note

The system also checks the time stamp of the CPM variables used in value fields and frames. The time stamp depends on the assignment of a value to the CPM variable. If the the time stamp of the CPM variable is more recent than the buffered date in the SEM system, the buffered date in the SEM system is also updated.

Use

This method of automatic buffering is significantly quicker than buffering all dates without checking the time stamps.
