Setting this indicator means that no query is started at a content provider, which would be suitable for search queries in principle (for example search engines, online databases).
Instead the homepage is loaded. This is then particularly useful when the user merely wants to surf in the internet and needs a suitable point of entry. Many search engines also make a directory structure available (in addition to search functionality) using categories so that the user finds such a point of entry by calling up a search engine.
