Definition

The start character string covers all the relevant parameters for the query of a content provider, except the URL address of the initial page (for example "http://www.sap.com"), the logon data (if required) and the actual search criteria, which is made known at runtime in the Editorial Workbench. The latter is maintained separately in the fields intended for this.

The name of the CGI script is considered as the parameter as well as the name of the database with online databases. It deals with information which can either be determined by testing (for example calling up the initial page of a search engine, starting a search query and subsequent analysis of the URL) or by obtaining from the content provider.
