Documentation
Definition
Specifies whether or not a characteristic is valid. The following specifications are possible:
SPACE - undefined
0 - invalid
1 - valid
Use
The validity is specified as an attribute of the characteristic (of the item characteristic, for example). Depending on the validity specified, the characteristic values (such as the individual items in your consolidation chart of accounts) are treated differently in different functions. For instance, only characteristics designated as valid are considered in certain calculations.
Dependencies
If you specified a validity for a characteristic, you can then specify whether the system should perform a validity check for the characteristic.
