Definition

Determines whether reporting reads the logical or the physical data stream.

Use

If you select the physical data stream, the data is read without interpretation from the data target that is assigned to the given data stream in the data basis.

If you select the logical data stream, the data is read using special logic.

Dependencies

Example

In consolidation of investments, for the location of equity data you can choose:

• Totals data
• Additional financial data
• Totals data and additional financial data

The physical data stream option reads the data from the corresponding ODS object for additional financial data. Consequently, if the location of data is totals data, no data is read.

The logical data stream option reads totals data and/or additional financial data (depending on your Customizing settings) using special read logic.
