Use
The inventory and supplier data is translated both with the exchange rate indicator defined in the task for elimination of IU profit and loss in transferred inventory and with the comparative exchange rate indicator.
Two different amounts of interunit profit or loss can result from the two translated datasets. The difference is posted as a translation difference to a differential account.
A translation difference is only posted if you have defined the differential account for translation differences in Customizing. Specify a comparative exchange rate indicator if you want a separate display of those translation differences.

Example
The balance sheet is translated using the current exchange rate, and the income statement is translated using the average exchange rate.
The inventory and supplier data is translated at the key date. The inventory and supplier data should be translated with the comparative exchange rate indicator using the average exchange rate. This makes a separate disclosure of the translation difference in the income statement possible.
