Definition
InfoProvider without its own physical data store in SAP BW.
The virtual InfoProvider has the same structure, the same function module, and thus the same way of working as the virtual provider, which is assigned to the totals data stream. In addition, this virtual provider interprets the settings for MultiProvider reporting.
Use
You use this particular virtual InfoProvider and a conventional BasicCube in the MultiProvider scenario for totals record reporting. Queries are defined at the MultiProvider.
Dependencies
Example
You carry totals data in the transactional InfoCube ZBCS_C11. The virtual provider for totals data is called ZBCS_VC11. You transfer closed periods to the BasicCube ZBCS_B11 using the data mart at ZBCS_VC11. You specify the highest transferred period in the settings for MultiProvider reporting.
You define ZBCS_VC42 in data basis maintenance as the virtual provider for MultiProvider reporting. You define a MultiProvider ZBCS_M11, which consists of ZBCS_B11 and ZBCS_VC42. When a query is executed on the MultiProvider, the virtual provider ZBCS_VC42 interprets the settings for MultiProvider reporting.
