Definition

Defines a validation rule. You can define a validation rule as reusable.

Use

A reusable validation rule can be reused in Customizing of validation methods. To define a validation rule as reusable, assign a technical ID with a maximum of 5 characters.

If you want to use a validation rule only once, you do not need a reusable validation rule. In this case, you can create a non-reusable validation rule in Customizing of the validation method (while defining validation rules) by leaving the technical ID blank.

Reusable validation rules can be used within a validation method only if their validation type and data stream type agree with those in the validation method.
